I had a random hook-up with a guy several years ago, and I only found out a few days after that, after I began talking with his friends and realizing how great a person he was, that I was falling in love with him. A few weeks later we met up again, but this time he told me that I'd "pulled him off the wagon", and that he'd given up sleeping with guys because he wanted a "normal life".

It took a long, long time to get over him. And I still think about him wistfully, once in a while.
